Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire (Sophomore Year/British Literature):

Sophomores will take a trip to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire with their British Literature class to enhance their understanding of British life and culture during the Renaissance and its influence on writings of the time period. The trip for the class of 2010 is scheduled for Thursday, October 11, 2007.

Events include Shakespeare performances at a replica of the Globe theatre, various other shows (hypnotists, swordswallowing, stage-fighting demonstrations), live jousting competition, as well as shopping amongst the various vendors and eating authentic Renaissance cuisine (including giant turkey legs).

The students will be the only ones at the Faire, since the trip is scheduled on a day that is open to school trips only: it is not open to the public.
