Sophomore and Junior Physical Education

1/2 credit course

Course Outline

Course Objectivies

1. The students will develop a positive attitude toward lifetime fitness.

2. The students will increase their level of physical fitness by participating in

    a variety of activities.

3. The students will develop skill, knowledege, and desire by actively

    engaging in different lifetime activites.

4. The students will initiate independant and responsible behavior in

    physical active settings.

5.  Students will HAVE FUN!

Course Content

-Each unit is played for 3 weeks, after that time the student will take a written test on the rules of the activity being played.

Grading Policy:

1. Points will be awarded for participation, tests, and skill tests.

2. Students receive (10) activity points per class if they dress and participate to class standards.  If a student does not dress or participate an appropriate number of points will be deducted from their daily total. After (5) non-dressing and / or participation days during the marking period the student may receive a failing grade for that marking period.  Inappropriate or unsafe behaviors may result in your being asked to complete in your P.E. requirements at a later time.

3. Your total points for the marking period will be divided by the total points (i.e. 620/650).  This number grade will be multiplied by 100 to give you your percentage marking period grade.  Midterm and final grades will be calculated based on the the Charter School Policies.  All grades will be posted on a weekly basis on K12.
