ADMISSION AND SEATING

Admission is by ticket only.  Each Senior is allotted 5 tickets for the ceremony.  There are no extra tickets available.  Tickets will be distributed in homerooms in late May.  If you will not be using all of your tickets please make the extras available to other Seniors.  Theatre doors will open at 10am.  You must have a ticket to be admitted into the theatre.

Please keep in mind that all seating is first come, first served.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY MEMBERS

Members of the National Honor Society are required to wear a unique stole and tassel at graduation.  (Members will use the NHS tassel only on their cap.)

COLLEGE ACCEPTANCES AND SCHOLARSHIPS

Seniors should submit all college acceptances and scholarships to Guidance as soon as possible.  Deadline for submissions is May 11.

CAP AND GOWN DISTRIBUTION

Caps and gowns, including National Honor Society stoles and tassels, will be distributed on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Senior Slideshow, following the last exam period.   (The Senior Picnic will follow the slideshow.  More information is available here.)

UNMET OBLIGATIONS

It is school policy that diplomas cannot be released if there are any outstanding obligations due the school.  Seniors should be sure that all textbooks, sports uniforms, etc. are returned before graduation practice.

GRADUATION PRACTICE

Participation in graduation rehearsal on Thursday, May 28, 2009 is mandatory in order to take part in the graduation exercise.  (Regular Charter dress code is not in effect for practice.)  Seniors may drive to the DuPont Theatre at the Hotel DuPont by 9:45am or report to school by 9:15am to ride the buses to rehearsal to avoid any inconvenience of parking.  Graduation rehearsal should be finished by 1:15pm.  Buses will then return Seniors to school.

GRADUATION EXERCISES

Graduates are to report no later than 10:15am to the DuPont Theatre.  For graduation girls must wear white shoes and, under their gowns, they are to wear a dress that is pastel, beige or white in color.  Boys are to wear slacks, ties, black or brown shoes and white or pastel color shirts.

HANDICAP ACCESS

The DuPont Theatre is handicap seating ready.  There is a section in the lower level of the theatre to accommodate such requests.  Individuals requiring handicap seating are still required to have a ticket for the ceremony.  Handicap requests and arrangements will be handled by Senior Council in the spring during homeroom.  Upon your arrival at the ceremony, please notify the ushers of your request and they will seat your family member in the appropriate section.

DIRECTIONS AND PARKING FOR THE DUPONT THEATRE

It is recommended that you arrive as early as possible for the graduation ceremony.  Valet parking is available at the Hotel DuPont entrance.  Self parking is available in surrounding parking garages and on the street.  Directions to the DuPont Theatre can be found here.

PURCHASING CAPS, GOWNS, ANNOUNCEMENTS

On January 26, 2009, a Senior Class assembly was held with representatives from Jostens.  Information and order forms for graduation materials including caps and gowns, announcements and other items were distributed.  All Seniors must order the cap/gown/tassel unit (section 4 on the order form).  If a current Senior has a sibling who attended Charter in the past, they are permitted to use their sibling's cap and gown but are required to purchase a new tassel, which is year specific.  Caps and gowns for boys are blue while for girls they are white.

ORDERING WITH JOSTENS

Representatives from Jostens were present in the cafeteria during both lunches on February 3 and February 10, 2009 to collect order forms and payment.  Questions regarding orders should be directed to Jostens at (302) 834-2502.

JOSTENS EXPRESS ORDERS FOR PAST DUE SUBMISSIONS

Any Senior who did not submit their graduation orders on time on February 3 and 10 have received an Express Order Form in the mail.  (Late fees may apply.)
